San Antonio Stars & Stripes on Houston Street Makes Its Debut
July 1-7, 2024, Houston Street shines bright in San Antonio. Celebrations are happening at the start of the month with the biggest events taking place over the 4th of July weekend. Oh, say, can you see the fun that’s in store? Here are some of our favorite 4th of July events happening in San Antonio.
Star Spangled Movies by Moonlight
July 2 | 7:30 PM to 10 PM
Kick off the 4th of July weekend early with Star Spangled Movies by Moonlight in Travis Park. Take advantage of Downtown Tuesday's free parking as you camp out with the family and enjoy a special screening of The Sandlot. Local food vendors will be on-site to cover all your movie snack needs!
1 Watson Rooftop Party
July 3 | 4 PM to 11 PM
Start celebrating your freedom on July 4th Eve at the 1 Watson Rooftop Party. This summer blowout will feature six of the city’s best DJs with drinks that keep on flowing and a picturesque view of downtown San Antonio.
Salute at Sunset River Parades
July 4-7th | 8 PM
Four parades for the 4th! Celebrate the men and women of the United States Armed Forces with the Salute at Sunset River Parades, running every evening of Independence Day Weekend. Patriotic floats will drift down the river, honoring those protecting our freedom. This show is free, but make sure to arrive early to grab a viewing spot along the river!
The 4th of July Artisan Show
July 4-7th
The banks of the river will be decked out in red, white, and blue crafts during the 4th of July Artisan Show. This free event features over 40 handmade artisan booths, including pottery, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, paintings, beadwork, and more. It’s the perfect local popup for your weekend shopping.
Stars & Stripes on Houston Street Parade
July 4th | 11 AM to 1 PM
The Stars & Stripes on Houston Street Parade, presented by Centro and Visit San Antonio, is guaranteed to put you in the 4th of July spirit! Catch a parade of vintage military and fire trucks, classic cars, marching bands, and local and regional cultural and heritage groups.
Stars & Stripes Salute at The Alamo
July 5th | 9 AM to 9:30 PM
The inaugural Stars & Stripes Salute in Alamo Plaza is one of the most anticipated new events in the July 4th lineup. This free, all-day event offers living history tours, live music performances, and a drone show that is sure to let freedom ring!

Living History
9 AM to 4 PM
Living Historians will take you back in time to show you what life was like in the 1800s Texas Frontier. Enjoy free tours of the Alamo Church, Long Barrack, and Alamo Gardens all day long.
Live Music
4 PM to 9:30 PM
Enjoy live music performances by the U.S. Air Force Rock Band, Children's Chorus of San Antonio, Opera San Antonio, Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, and other surprise guests.
Drone Show
9:30 PM
This is the big finale! As night falls, hundreds of illuminated drones will light up the sky, creating dazzling patterns and patriotic symbols set to a dynamic soundtrack by Pat Green.
July 4th | 11 AM-9:30 PM | Meet at Woodlawn Lake Park for the Official 4th of July Celebration. Kick back around the lake as you enjoy the day, and bring your own lawn chair to catch the best fireworks show in town!
