Naylor Savannah
The largest habitat in the zoo's 110-year history, Naylor Savannah, is now open. Naylor Savanna doubles the space for giraffes and rhinos and triples the space for zebras, ostriches, sitatunga, and more!
Waffles the Giraffe
Speaking of giraffes, visit the newest giraffe addition at the San Antonio Zoo, Waffles! Waffles, the 6-year-old reticulated giraffe, made her debut at the zoo on November 29, 2024!
Spekboom Lodge
Have a sleepover with the animals! Spekboom Lodge is now taking reservations. At Spekboom Lodge, you'll find a luxurious retreat offering a once-in-a-lifetime overnight experience inside the Naylor Savanna.

Gorillas are expected to find a home at Congo Falls later this year at the San Antonio Zoo. The last time the San Antonio Zoo had gorillas? 1990!
Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Chupacabra
Rollercoaster icon Goliath transforms into Chupacabra this year. Six Flags Fiesta Texas will add elements throughout the ride experience, like landscaping and additional props to heighten the overall theme. Outside in the courtyard, you'll soon be surrounded by glimpses of the beast’s mysterious world.
SeaWorld San Antonio
Rescue Jr.
Coming to SeaWorld San Antonio in Spring 2025, Rescue Jr. is an exciting new hands-on adventure zone designed to immerse younger visitors in the world of animal rescue and conservation.

Fiesta del Mar

One of San Antonio’s most innovative exhibits, this one draws inspiration from the historic Japanese screens Scenes in and Around Kyoto (Rakuchu Rakugai-zu). Explore this virtual city, where the artwork changes in real-time with the seasons, weather, and the time of day of its location.

“Mary Virginia Carson: Pioneer Artist Capturing Rock Art with Watercolors”
October 19, 2024 – March 23, 2025
Mary Virginia Carson set out on a mission to capture the amazing rock art murals created thousands of years ago by the first people of Texas. The results? Carson's watercolor renderings of the images she observed. Check out her findings at this exhibit.
New Experiences at The Alamo
Plaza de Valero
Opening late December 2024, Plaza de Valero is set to become a vibrant gateway to the Alamo. Located near the iconic Menger Hotel, this pedestrian-friendly plaza blends history and community, offering tables, a lush green lawn, and a performance pavilion for events and entertainment.
Designed for relaxation and gatherings, the plaza is perfect for taking in the rich culture of downtown San Antonio. Sustainability shines here too, with a massive underground cistern supporting native plants and trees, providing shade and comfort for visitors year-round. Make Plaza de Valero part of your Alamo experience!
Surrounded! Augmented Experience
You’ve never experienced the Alamo like this before! Take your visit to the next level with interactive portals that bring history to life. Meet engaging characters, watch immersive clips, and dive into dynamic animations that transport you back in time.
Step into the 18th century to encounter early Native Americans and Spanish friars, prepare for battle on the eve of the historic clash, witness the first confrontation, and so much more. History has never been this exciting—come see it for yourself!
Coming Soon: San Antonio World Heritage Center
Serving as a gateway to San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, soon visitors will be able to check out the brand-new San Antonio World Heritage Center, complete with endless opportunities to learn more about the San Antonio Missions and the art, culture, and history surrounding these treasured sites.
Villa Finale Museum & Gardens
Villa Finale will soon open a brand-new Visitor Center to service guests at this beautiful, historic site. The new structure will reflect both the classical and vernacular architecture of the King William Historic District.
The one-story building of over 1800 square feet will be located on the northwest side of the property, facing the rear grounds. Stay tuned for more information!
